A naturally sparkling rosé made from 30-year-old Grenache Noir (95%) and 60-year-old Muscat d’Alexandria (5%), both grown on pure slate soils. The grapes are co-macerated for thirty-six hours, then pressed and fermented in stainless steel before resting on their full lees. Bottled just days before fermentation finished, following the ancestral method, creating a vibrant, naturally sparkling wine with a deep rosé colour reminiscent of traditional wines from the region. Unfined, unfiltered and with zero added SO₂.
‘Contraban’ pays homage to the historic illicit trade across the Pyrenees between Roussillon and Empordà during Franco’s dictatorship.
